HOW I CAN HELP & HOW I CANNOT:
Lately I’ve been realizing that when it comes to imparting to others HOW THEY CAN HEAL THEMSELVES, I have a great deal to say on the subject. The main point is that I personally have no special ability in being someone that one can lean on. I ONLY KNOW HOW TO ENCOURAGE THE ONE IN NEED TO TAKE A COMPLETE STAND FOR HIMSELF, as that’s where the problem lies. I have never been more sure of anything.
It is a tremendous temptation to want to find someone who will help to lift the burden – to do anything except FULLY AND COMPLETELY COMMITTING ONESELF TO DOING THE WORK. The temptation is to tell someone in detail all about a problem, thus filling their own mind and the mind of the would-be helper with the exact opposite of what they’re seeking. I for one don’t ever want or need ANY DETAILS WHATSOEVER as to what another person is “going through”. I can talk till the cows come home about how turning one’s thinking over to divine Consciousness completely changes a person’s life but I literally DO NOT KNOW how a halting, halfway position could bring anyone their desired results. I just don’t know – I guess that if someone got some help that way, they’d probably have many other issues needing attention very soon thereafter.
Everything that I have said above has NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH WHETHER OR NOT TO USE MEDICINE, DOCTORS, PSYCHIATRISTS, HOSPITALS: not a word. My feeling is do what YOU DEEM BEST – what will get your mind off of the problem so you can use your precious heart and mind to listen as the Holy Spirit speaks to YOU !!!
