Pack of lies vs Consciousness

So what pack of lies am I going to share with you today. I call it a pack of lies because all the world loves a lie. Therefore when I speak the truth, it thinks I’m telling a lie. After all it is a lie to believe that you were ever born, that you prevail and then you disappear.

This is not true. It is a lie to believe that the world exists as the world all by itself, that’s a lie. It is a lie to believe that there is an anthropomorphic type of a God who looks down upon you and sits in a little room with a big book with your name in it. (laughter) And tells you you’re going to go to heaven, you’re going to hell.

But all the world loves a lie and everything I say is a lie. Due to the fact that I have to share things with you that you want to hear to make you feel better. When you try to improve your health. When you try to improve your finances. When you try to live a better life. That is a lie.

Only consciousness, only God exists. It is what we call God or consciousness that is the world, that is the universe. Nothing exists on its own. Everything in this universe comes from your mind. It isn’t real by itself it’s like a dream. You believe what you see with your eyes, what you hear with your ears, what you speak with your mouth, what you smell with your nose. You believe all these things are real. They are not real. They are lies. You believe you exist as a human being and you make decisions, you make choices. You do certain things in this world. This is not true.

It is consciousness that does everything. You are like a puppet manipulated by the laws of karma. And everything that you do is the result of that karma. It’s a lie. For in truth karma does not exist and in truth you’ve never done anything because you were never born. There is absolutely nothing that you can ever do. You are spirit! All-pervading! Omnipresent! Not a little body like it looks and appears.

“Feel the truth”

When it’s gone – wow!

“It’s so simple. … I could put it down for you in two minutes. Whether you’ll hear it, though, is another matter. That depends on your own heart. So here it is: The world is full of sorrow. The root of sorrow is attachment/desire. The uprooting of sorrow is the dropping of attachment. How does one drop attachment? You only look and see that it is based on a false belief—the belief that, without this, I cannot be happy. That’s false.

The moment you see that belief is false, you’re free. Good luck to you. It may take you one minute, it may take you twenty-five years. But the day you see it, you’re free. You’re free as a bird. You’ll be coming up to give retreats, you’ll be talking to presidents. You’ll be meeting popes. You won’t be fazed one bit. You’re free. You’re completely free. You’ll be making an ass of yourself, and it won’t bother you. You won’t bother to impress anybody.

… You don’t give a tinker’s damn what they think about you and what they say about you. You know what that means? Oh, boy, that’s freedom. You’re not bothered about whether they approve of you or they don’t. It’s all right. You’re happy. You don’t approve? All right, too bad; you move on. You’re happy. But that’s because you’ve discovered that your happiness does not lie in these things. You’ve got to see that for yourself. It’s useless reading a book, useless listening to me. You’ve got to see it.”

Enlightenment vs reincarnation

ENLIGHTENMENT vs REINCARNATION

This is a thing I don’t really want to talk about but I’m getting that nudge so here goes. The issue is reincarnation and the reason is to see if we can’t allow ourselves a modicum of good, old-fashioned pressure back into our ever-mellowing search for eternal enlightenment.

Why should we want to allow any kind of pressure into our search? It’s because if you’re searching at all, you’ve bought into third dimensional time and space. Of course we could simply opt for the dimension of pure Spirit but I’m afraid we’ve really not fully awakened to it or we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

The shocking truth is when we visit the Realm of the Real, we are most probably less than 1% aware. I’m not liking those odds! But still you say so what, what’s the big rush? Why not enjoy myself and go wherever my feelings lead me?

The above questions betray the fact that you are presently entirely wrapped up in the dream of life in matter and its concomitant wheel that goes nowhere – the wheel of karma.

Reincarnation makes perfect sense if you believe in birth and death: it’s well-documented and perfectly logical – if you believe in birth and death! I fully agree with you – the prospect of coming back to start over and try again as who-knows‐what is most disconcerting!

We need to take those aforementioned “odds” very, very seriously and start making our forever-exit plan! Yes, by all means let’s get the hell out of the third dimension … and I mean for good!

You see, not only can you find great comfort in the fourth dimension (and beyond) but you can stay there, and you can do so now!

Jesus had no difficulty seeing the lame man, the dead girl, the loaves & fishes, raging storms, impenetrable walls. But he also saw spiritual reality right where obstacles appeared to mortals. We can too.

How badly do you want to wake up? If you came to realize you’re less than 1% awake and aware, would you want to give up? Would you still take it as flippantly as you have been? Would you continue hanging onto some of your most cherished grievances?

OR WOULD YOU FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER DISPENSE WITH THAT SELF-APPLAUDING EGO THAT HAS CAUSED YOU SO MUCH PAIN THROUGHOUT THE CENTURIES ? TIME IS RUNNING OUT !

How foolish it is to believe that you are doing the writing when, in fact, you are merely the pen in the Writer’s Hand.

Self-Realization or Enlightenment is nothing more than the deepest possible understanding that there is no individual doer of any action – neither you nor anyone else. Also you are not the thinker of any thoughts, nor the experiencer of any experiences – they happen. When IT happens, no bright lights are likely to flash in your head!

Truly clear mind JK

A mind in contemplation is free of symbols; it has no visions because visions are projections of that background in which it has been conditioned. A mind in contemplation is no longer making effort, as effort is generally understood; therefore, there is no observer, there is no censor. A mind in contemplation, which is the state of meditation, is completely silent, and that silence is not induced. You can discipline your mind to be silent, but that is merely conformity to a pattern in the hope of getting what you desire; therefore, it is not silence. A mind in meditation is absolutely silent, and that silence is not projected, not wished for, not cultivated. That silence is from moment to moment, it has no continuity; therefore, it cannot be practiced, it cannot be developed any more than you can develop humility. Do you understand? If you cultivate, develop humility, you are no longer humble; you don’t know what humility means. Leave the cultivation of humility to the saints, to the leaders, who are full of vanity and therefore cultivate the opposite, hoping thereby to become still more respectable. The cultivation of virtue is effort in limitation, so this quality of silence is not something to be cultivated.

The mind in meditation is in a state where there is no movement of thought, and therefore no projection of the background in which it has lived. Only the mind which has understood all that we have been talking about—understood in the sense of having perceived the fact, not merely having accepted the words, the explanations, which are ashes—and is therefore completely silent with a silence that is not induced by breathing or any other trick—it is only such a mind that can know the immeasurable, the eternal, that which has no beginning and no end.

Direct experience of your own JK

So thought creates the thinker, the censor, the observer. And is it possible to think without the censor? Do you understand? Is it possible to observe without the observer? Don’t agree or disagree, sirs. Please, you have to find out. One direct experience of your own is worth more than all the books put together. If you can find out for yourself what is true, you can burn all the Vedas, the Upanishads, the Gita, and the Bible; they are not worth looking at.

Now, you have to find out directly for yourself whether it is possible to be in that state of thinking without the thinker, experiencing without the experiencer. Please, sirs, it is not complicated. In the moment of your intense anger, is there an observer? It is only after the emotional upheaval has taken place that you say, “By Jove, I was angry.” Then comes identification, and the condemnatory process begins; there is contradiction, conflict, an effort to conform to the pattern recognized by society as being respectable. Do you understand, sirs? The pattern is recognized as being respectable; otherwise, you would not try to conform to it. And respectability is a horror, an ugly thing because it opens the door to mediocrity.

So, our problem is to understand the state of the mind which is in meditation because meditation is essential—but not the meditation that most people practice sitting in a room and repeating a lot of words; that is not meditation. Repetition merely puts the mind to sleep, and you can do that very easily by taking a tranquilizer. I know you will dislike what is being said because you have found that your traditional repetition of certain words and names for ten minutes or so gradually makes your mind quiet, but it has only gone to sleep, and that is what you call meditation. You also call it meditation when you solicit, pray, beg for something for yourself, for your country, for your party, or for your family. You put forth the begging bowl of inward poverty and ask somebody to fill it. That is not meditation. Meditation is something entirely different, as you will see. The state of meditation is possible only when there is space in the mind for observation, and that space is denied to a mind which is suppressed, disciplined to conform to a pattern. A mind in the state of meditation, contemplation, is not striving to be anything.

Sirs, I am only trying to convey in different words what has been said previously. If you have not followed the talk for the last forty minutes or more, you won’t understand what is being said now.

God’s blessings not dependent on anything JSG

One important point in spiritual living which requires a tremendous transition in consciousness is that the blessing of God in our individual experience is not dependent on anything. It is not dependent on our first being good; it is not dependent on our first obeying laws or going through rites or ceremonies.

The blessings and grace of God are not dependent on any thoughts we think or on any acts we do or do not do.

The blessings and grace of God are free.

They are not a reward for studying books; they are not a reward for attending church; they are not a reward for being benevolent or for tithing.

Joel Goldsmith
Showing Forth the
Presence of God
Chapter 3

Can anyone heal people?

CAN ANYONE HEAL PEOPLE ?

I maintain that the person with the problem should learn what needs to be done because it’s all about their own spiritual growth. While it’s true that health is never withheld, there is an awakening that needs to take place.

We aren’t meant to live separated from our Source, Spirit, God, and that’s where our focus should be.
