Questions about Spirit

WHEN WE ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT SPIRIT, we need to be aware that it’s a whole ‘nother realm. We run into so much trouble trying to blend the two realms, like mixing oil and water or comparing apples with oranges.

The Spiritual realm is not one millimeter or one nanosecond away: it’s right here! But here’s the kicker – it’s here INSTEAD. That is unbelievably wonderful news and here’s why: it is the HEALING of all the woes of the flesh – every last one of them! How’s that?

What is true in the Spirit oftentimes isn’t true in the flesh, and vice versa. Jesus lived in the flesh – or so it seemed – but saw right through the flesh all the time. When we “see” a body healed and whole the body obeys. When we see a world healed and whole it obeys. You really can’t prove me wrong coz you’d first have to “see” the healing.

So try it, I dare you! It gets easier and easier with practice.

Spiritual living vs. glamour and glitz

THIS IS REALLY HARD TO EXPRESS:
I had a huge battle with dualism.
I wanted that closer walk with Jesus and
I wanted the glamour & glitz of the world.

PHYSICAL PROBLEMS AROSE, BUT
Whenever there was a way to evade them
dualism raised its hydra head again.
Very sickly=> very wanting God entirely.
Well again? Sayonara deep concentration!

LUCKILY I HAD PLENTY OF SICKNESS
to keep my nose to the grindstone.
Coz I really, really, REALLY wanted
God’s healing path for my life!

NOW FINALLY I CAN BE AUDACIOUS
and say to you: “You Must AWAKEN !!”
The world can never offer you the
unspeakable bliss of Spiritual HEALING !!

Every Spiritual approach requires same

Expecting God to protect one person and not thousands of others when calamity threatens, makes no sense by itself.
But:
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1)”
REQUIRES DWELLING THERE !!!

“There” = where we no longer exist as a Separate Self, cut off from our Source, cut off from everyone else, cut off from God.

“Dwelling (verb in continuous mode – Robin’s definition) = hanging out there… permanently.

“As ye sow, so shall ye reap.” (Christ Jesus)
“Do unto others as ye would have them do unto you.”
(Christ Jesus)
… are known as Cosmic laws.
… aka Karma (Hindu).
… law of cause and effect.
All of the above are mental laws of the 3D Realm.

Jesus also spoke of dimensions where these laws would be superfluous.

Past experiences playing are okay

Does your mind obsessively wander
to your past experiences?
Well, guess what?
I’ve got some really good news for you:
it’s alright!! Here’s why:
Assuming you’re not delving into
the false belief of a separated self,
it’s nothing more than “experiences”
of the past – could be anybody’s –
just playing out for entertainment
with no more attachment than that!

But we must with all diligence
refrain from giving our or anyone else’s
movie-like memories power in the present.
We want peace, joy and celebration.
as does everyone else!
So we read our holy books and realize
our minds have not yet caught up
to the level of awareness that we know
we already have!

Ken Etter:
“So we read our holy books and realize
our minds have not yet caught up
to the level of awareness that we know
we already have!”

This is where the true “discovery” really exists on this journey, to find that what we have been seeking has always existed within. Unfortunately as we take this journey and often seek direction from “holy books” aka world view writings, I have found that we more often exchange one layer for another, when in fact all that we are seeking already exists within, laying in wait for us to remove all the layers, most often in our thoughts, and most often from the thoughts from the past, that so often almost dominate our heads. It is when we learn to quiet the thoughts, or maybe better said learn to stop responding to the continual flow of thoughts, of thinking within us that we then discover this amazing presence, awareness within, that has always been there and always will. American spiritual writer Adyashanti states this as merely being, to get to the level where all of the layers, especially that of continual thought, have been dispersed, removed and simply rest in that being, that awareness. In the Christian text this is phrased more simply in Psalm 46:10 – “Be still and know I am God”, understanding that the terms God, consciousness, awareness, being are all interchangeable.

Robin Starbuck:
That’s most illuminating, Ken, and exactly what I was alluding to [I’m going to copy it onto my website …]. One small point I’d like to add is that when we summarily dismiss the notion of ourselves as a Separate Self (separated from God), we no longer have to strive to quiet or stop our thoughts: they become like film flicks on a screen going hither and yon without our engagement whatsoever!

Religion’s vs man’s faithfulness JJohnson

Manmade Religion presents the faithfulness of God like fragile broken eggshells beneath our feet

when in truth God’s faithfulness is stronger than anything

Stronger than Peter’s denial
Stronger than Thomas’ doubt
Stronger than David’s lust
Stronger than Moses’ murder
Stronger than Paul’s persecution

Stronger than life
Stronger than death
Stronger than sin
Stronger than shame

Stronger than your worst day
Stronger than your greatest mistake
Stronger than anything you will ever face

God will be faithful to you
He will never leave you
He will never forsake you
He will be faithful to you

Because he loves

And it’s his joy to rescue you

Even from yourself

~Jeremiah Johnson

Separate self put to rest

OH, WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY . . .
when Separate Self has been put to rest.
What unspeakable freedom to explore
the highways and byways of God’s inexplicable Kingdom!

But that gosh-darned ego-maniacal self,
generated by the genius of mortal man
will not … no, cannot … loose its hold
coz it was never more than pure illusion.

We will never, ever see that
Glorious Day of awakening if we
first consult with our Rule Master, our
pre-programmed robotic Separate Self.

Get yourself indignant!
Stand for it no more! Say – and mean it –
“I Am (the image and likeness of) God
with the never separated mind of Christ!”

Dealing with Spirituality without religion

“21 Things I Did, Exploring Spirituality Beyond Institutional Religion:

1. I made peace with my religious past.
2. I took responsibility for my spiritual journey.
3. I stopped dividing up the world into “sacred” and “secular.”
4. I began listening to and trusting my inner voice.
5. I started looking past the externals, and relating to the deepest reality I knew was present in every human being.
6. I quit making my humanity the enemy.
7. I resisted the need to build a persona around being an enlightened person.
8. I opened myself to the rhythm and flow of life in nature.
9. I explored what the natural sciences have to say about the universe and my humanness.
10. I focused on addressing the root of my suffering.
11. I paid attention to my deepest desires and passions.
12. I sought to cast off my fictitious self, and be an authentic and fully-expressed me.
13. I questioned and applied critical thinking to my default assumptions and beliefs about the world.
14. I expanded my relational world beyond religious sub-culture.
15. I resisted creating a new religion out of my latest discovery.
16. I operated with the assumption that every human being knew something I needed to know.
17. I resisted latching onto the latest guru, and began seeing all people as my teachers.
18. I explored new fields and areas of interest that were largely unknown to me.
19. I shifted my focus from the question of life after death to making the most of my life before death.
20. I approached my life as a reality I was free to create.
21. I became interested and involved in the lives of people I encountered naturally along the everyday paths of my life.”
