John G. Lake’s Consecration Statement as A Christian.
My Consecration as A Christian
I, this day, consecrate my entire life to glorify my Heavenly Father by my obedience to the principles of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. All my effort from now on will be directed in an effort to demonstrate the righteousness of God in whatsoever I may be engaged… Principle 1 All the things earthly that I possess shall not be considered my own, but belonging to my Heavenly Father, and shall be held in trust by me to be used and directed by the wisdom of the Spirit of God, as the law of love of men as Christ loved them may dictate. If at any time God should raise up men wiser than myself, I will gladly commit my all to their use and turn over all my possessions to them for distribution. If at any time in my life I should be engaged in any earthly business and should employ men to aid me in conducting it, I shall reward them justly and equally, comparing their own energy expended with my own after adding a sufficient amount to my own to cover all risk that may be involved in the operation of my business. I shall consider my employees my equals with rights to the blessings of nature and life equal to my own. I shall not strive to elevate myself to a position of comfort above the rest of my employees and shall direct all my efforts to bring all mankind to an equal plane, where all enjoy the comforts of life and fellowship together. Principle 2 I shall not cease to cry to God and implore Him to deliver mankind from the effects of sin so long as sin lasts, but shall cooperate with God in the redemption of mankind. I will have seasons of prayer and fasting in behalf of mankind, weeping and bewailing their lost condition and imploring God to grant them repentance unto life as the Spirit of God may lead me. Principle 3 I shall live my life in meekness, never defending my own personal rights, but shall leave all judgment to God who judges righteously and rewards all according to their works. I shall not render evil for evil or railing for railing, but shall bless all and do good to enemies in return for evil. By God’s grace I shall keep all hardness and harshness out of my life and actions, but shall be gentle and unassuming, not professing above what God has imparted to me, nor lifting myself above my brethren. Principle 4 I shall consider righteous acts as more necessary to life and happiness than food and drink, and not let myself be bribed or coerced into any unrighteous action for any earthly consideration. Principle 5 By God’s grace I will always be merciful, forgiving those who have transgressed against me and endeavoring to correct the ills of humanity instead of merely punishing them for their sins. Principle 6 I shall not harbor any impure thoughts in my mind, but shall endeavor to make my every act uplifting. I shall regard my procreative organs sacred and holy and never use them for any purpose other than that which God created them for. I shall regard the home as sacred and always guard my actions in the presence of the opposite sex, so as not to cause a man and his wife to break their vows to one another. I shall be chaste with the opposite sex who are married, considering them as sisters. I shall be careful not to cause them undue pain by playing on their affections. Principle 7 I will always strive to be a peacemaker. First, by being peaceful myself and avoiding all unfruitful contentions, and treating all with justice and regarding their rights and their free agency, never trying to force any to my point of view. If I should offend anyone knowingly, I shall immediately apologize. I will not scatter evil reports about any person and so try to defame their character, or repeat things that I am not certain of being true. I will strive to remove the curse of strife among brethren by acting as a peacemaker. Principle 8 I shall not become discouraged when I am persecuted on account of the righteousness mentioned above nor murmur on account of any suffering I undergo, but shall gladly give my life rather than depart from this high standard of life, rejoicing because I know I have a great reward in Heaven. I shall strive to make the above principles the ideal of all the world and give my life and energy to see mankind get the power from God to practice the same.

Dimension of the glory realm
HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO SUPERNATURALLY CROSS OVER into a dimension of the glory realm that’s only available to believers who are willing to give up their entire life to be overtaken by the life of Jesus.
Phil Mason, in his ground-breaking masterpiece, QUANTUM GLORY, writes about a man who has lived a life of apostolic signs and wonders: “Smith Wigglesworth, who by many accounts is regarded as one of the most anointed men of the 20th century, was literally possessed by the Holy Spirit. Wigglesworth noted that there is a vast difference between possessing the gift of the Holy Spirit and being possessed by the Holy Spirit. He lived in a realm where he didn’t exercise the gifts of the Spirit; the gifts controlled him! He was overtaken by the Spirit so that the Spirit could demonstrate what He wanted to do through any believer who is yielded to such an extent that they become a lightning rod to release the glory.”
It is interesting to note that Wigglesworth hadn’t gotten his supernatural ministry off the ground until he was over 50 years of age! But when he did get it in full tilt, he managed to raise no fewer than 23 people from the dead!

Paul: A model for us all
……………. P .. A .. U .. L …………….
RStarbuck, November 30, 2012
…..What an amazing human being! Brought up under the Old Covenant – the Mosaic Law – he pursued what he felt needed to be done, the extermination of the enemy, i.e., Christians. Can any of us imagine how he felt upon meeting Jesus in person – years after the Lord’s resurrection from the grave? If it had been me, I don’t know but I think I might have fainted dead away! A lot of good I would have been, right? Dead as a doornail! But I digress.
…..Jesus asked Paul why he was persecuting Him. You see, persecuting Christ’s followers was tantamount to persecuting Him. Paul suddenly found himself completely blind and needed to be guided back into the town where he miraculously got his sight back. Here’s where this story begins:
…..Paul was so profoundly smitten by his encounter with the Lord that it sustained him through unrelenting attacks on his person. Everywhere he went, Paul and his accomplices were severely beaten and/or stoned to within an inch of their lives and then imprisoned – all as a deterrent to their spreading Christianity.
…..What is most astonishing is the sheer joy Paul found in doing the Lord’s bidding without question. If Jesus had said “Jump!”, Paul would have said “How high?” He did everything at a level of ebullience that must have caused onlookers to conclude that he was insane. He was insanely in love with his Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. Oh, how I long to have that degree of trust. Nothing else mattered to Paul: he was so humbled by being chosen to carry out his purpose in God’s plan.
…..The trials and tribulations that Paul faced daily were but “a light affliction” to him. Just one of the abuses he endured would have been a major Deal Breaker for me, but Paul goes around singing hymns and praising God.
…..This brings me to the real part of this story that I was hoping to impress you with: I’m really reluctant to tell you what it is because you are Bound To misconstrue it and miss a hugely important fact of Christianity. I ‘GET’ Paul. There, I said it. I get him. Flogged, beaten, stoned were of no event to him. He didn’t even have to pray that the stones might be softer in the next town that he was going to. After all, Stephen, the very first martyr, had had the distinct honor of seeing Jesus standing in front of him as he was being stoned to death. Paul would have changed places with Stephen in a heartbeat to die and be with God, but was quite content to stick with his divine assignment. And now we all have the Apostle Paul to thank for the better part of the New Testament.

Stay in the Spirit longer
HOW LONG CAN YOU STAY IN THE SPIRIT ?
30 seconds? 2 minutes? 1 hour? This is a habit that can be improved upon!
LET’S BE PERFECTLY CLEAR: IT’S NOT OUR HUMAN EFFORT THAT BRINGS US TO GOD, BUT WE DO NEED TO MAKE A DECISION … WE NEED TO CHOOSE THE KINGDOM OF GOD … IN ORDER TO BECOME AWARE OF ITS PRESENCE, ALREADY HERE, WITHIN US.
Psalm 139:7 KJV
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
BUT … BUT … BUT … IT TAKES RIGOROUS EFFORT ON OUR PART. The “devil” will certainly want to thwart this achievement. He will want to, like the dickens!! But, that’s too darned bad — for him!! With plenty of exercise and SON-shine in your thinking, you could be spending ALL YOUR TIME WITH THE LORD.

Different strokes for different folks!

November 18, 2014
LET ME ASK YOU A QUESTION: in your walk with Jesus, in your study of the word, did you or did you not glean understanding little by little, step by step, here a little there a little? And did you not find many corrections along the way where God was finally able to deal with you on a higher level because you had finally completed the levels leading up to it?
Do you know that it is human nature to forget the levels leading up to your present attainment and just expect everyone to measure up to your new level, forgetting that other people have been learning differently than you and not necessarily in an inferior way?
They have been learning similar lessons from a whole different vantage point and for all we know they could be way ahead of you! When you get a great and golden new insight do you ever think just how naive you were about 10 seconds ago? And when you’re busy with self congratulation did it ever occur to you that the other person may be sailing right past you at the very moment?
You thought you had everything all figured out and suddenly you realize that something no longer makes sense. This would be a very good time for you to remember that you are dealing with the realm of the spiritual and we are all mere mortals trying to comprehend the incomprehensible!

Oneness with God
IF GOD IS IN US . . . AND ALL AROUND US . . . WHERE WE WERE AND WHERE WE’RE GOING TO, then why not identify ourselves as being at one with Him?
Jesus paid it all. Do you at times doubt it? Do you sometimes find yourself doing your level best to help God get His mission off the ground? Paul tells us in 2 Cor 5:17 that if we’re in Christ we’re a brand new creature. All the old stuff has passed completely away and that, my friend is that! No more disease, sickness or sin to bind us to satanic beliefs! This new man – our new selfhood – should be explored till the cows come home.
We know precious little about our true be-ing in Christ; and yet it’s our open door to heaven right here and now!
Obedience <=> O.C. Confidence <=> N.C.
WITHOUT ME YE CAN DO NOTHING . . .
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
John 15:5 KJV
BUT . . .
I CAN DO ALL THINGS !!!
Philippians 4:13 KJV
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
GOD HAS C-H-O-S-E-N THE WEAK !!
1 Corinthians 1:26-28 KJV
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called : [27] But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; [28] And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea , and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
ARE YOU COMFY-COZY WITH THE WORLD ?
Or, have you come to the end of yourself?
Filters Can Be Harmful
FILTERS ARE NOT ALWAYS A GOOD THING!
Robin Starbuck, Ph.D.
….. This morning, I held a brand new coffee filter in my hand and stared at it in wonder and amazement, pondering its functionality: its sheer purity and freedom from lint productibility. Coffee grounds, per se, are not for human consumption; but a cup o’ joe most certainly is – after it has been filtered through the bitter sediment. Likewise there’s a lot of stuff out there that oughtn’t be ground up and consumed by our tender, precious minds; yet we harbor many unhealthy biases in our perceptions and beliefs about God.
….. Filters can also bring major problems into our lives when they block out (filter out) wisdom and sagacious discrimination: those aforementioned pristine filters become tarnished and limp with use and misuse, kind of like reading the Bible with blinders on. Think about it for a moment and I’m sure you’ll agree that there is precious little that we can do without some preconceived notion of what’s going on. Am I right? We are so filled with surmisings, opinions, biases, judgements – our own personal perspective on how the world ought to be sliced up – that we can hardly hear the word of God thundering in our hearts!
….. Extracting these noisome filters can be a daunting undertaking: we may know the Bible fairly well, taking into account the culture and time-frame with special attention to audience relevance and yet hold fast to teachings we’ve gleaned in Sunday School. In other words, we’re just as wrong-minded as can be in our approach to hearing the Holy Spirit as we open His book!
….. We need to release our desire to figure everything out as quickly and painlessly as is humanly possible and let the Holy Spirit take over! God will teach every sincere seeker of truth in a way and time that will dazzle us and with His special touch of the miraculous! Don’t take a chance on missing out: we want Him, He wants us.
….. Let’s approach the Good Book with a renewed conviction to have our entire being shaken to the core; let’s drop off old traditional mindsets like yesterday’s newspapers! What we’re reading may have been written at least 2,000 years ago but so much has happened since then. To tell the truth, we’d have to make a concerted effort to get to the point that we can consider ourselves teachable!
